The Farmhouse is very spacious. It has 2 rooms with comfortable King sized beds and a Queen Bed in the living room to sleep 6. An extra air mattress is also available for extra guests. The living room smart TV enables you to log onto your apps and watch your favorite shows.
The cover Lanai (porch) boasts of expansive panoramic views of the ocean and provides a lovely cozy place to hangout at night or during the day. My favorite spot to meditate and breathe in the fresh ocean breeze.
The spacious open plan kitchen is fully equipped for home cooked meals.
The two Bathrooms are stocked with shampoo and body wash and fresh towels are provided.
Washer/dryer with soap is also available and is behind the main house.
We do have cats that walk around the property
Farm life in Hawaii is one of the most peaceful and beautiful experiences. Our farm is located on the slopes of Mauna Kea with nothing hindering the gorgeous ocean and sunrise views. We grow coffee on the farm and provide chemical free homegrown and hand processed Hawaiian coffee to our guests. Larger bags available for purchase.
We also have free range organic chicken eggs, Coffee & Honey that we happily sell to our guests.
Avocados, star fruit, bread fruit, lychees, longans and bananas are some of the fruiting trees on the farm. Since trees only fruit in particular seasons it's up to the guests to explore and pick any fruits they find.
There's a nice whale watching deck on the farm where you can lounge for hours staring at the ocean, enjoying the cool breeze, getting lots of sun and sometimes watch a whale breach.
Make yourself a nice cup of hot chocolate and hangout at our deck for stargazing at night. The milky way galaxy and metro showers are fully visible in our sky due to very little light pollution. You will most likely see and wish upon a shooting star!
There is a short hike to cool local waterfall if you're interested in adventuring.
Please note that outdoors space is shared with other residents of the farm.
The property is hidden and secluded yet very close to the local stores, restaurants and the city of Hilo. Papaaloa Country store is only a few minutes walk/drive away. Cook in your kitchen or go down to the café/bar for some food, drinks & live music every night. (The store is closed on Sundays.)
We are about 600ft above sea level so we do not need a/c. The fan in the room is enough to keep it cool.
