Spacious, modern cottage with all the tropical Hawaii charm located on a one+ acre macadamia nut farm near Hawi Town. The cottage has an open living area with high ceilings, bamboo floors and tasteful decor. Enjoy cooking in the fully equipped kitchen with craftsman made cabinets, granite counter tops and gas cooktop in kitchen island. Separate cozy bedroom with queen bed. The Cottage has a large lanai with two daybeds for lazing around and enjoying the garden as well as a BBQ for your outdoor entertaining.
You will enjoy this beautiful retreat away from the hassle and bustle, yet only one mile above historic Hawi town and 10 minutes from North Kohala’s Beach Parks. A great place to rejuvenate, meditate and enjoy that off the beaten track old Hawaii feel.
This is a hosted rental , I live on property , however the cottage is completely self contained and private with it's own garden.
Hawi area Info: Our cottage is located one mile above Hawi town in historical North Kohala - this is still wonderful “Old Hawaii” an off the ' beaten track' unique are. We are minutes from Kapaa, Mahukona and Keokea state beach parks as well as the black sand beach and hiking of Pololu Valley . In town, you have a grocery store, post office, coffee shop, Farm Store with local produce and more, a small Saturday farmer's market with locally grown & organic produce and a couple of dining choices like Mexican, Hawaiian, Thai, local Diner fare ( take away at this time) .There is a 9 hole mini golf course with driving range and tennis courts and a pool in Kapaau town about 2 miles from the house.
Hawi Town has the Kohala Coffee Mill for Breakfast and lunch or a Tropical Dreams ice cream treat. Elements Jewelery store across the street offers a great selection of unique gifts and ' As Hawi Turns 'clothing and gift shop next door is also a 'must see'. The Kohala Grown farm store has fresh local produce, local food gift items and much more. Bamboo Restaurant is another favorite- currently open for lunch. Ma Ranchita Mexican is open for lunch and dinner takeaway and eat in on patio.
There are some nice places for lunch & take away in Kapaau as well: enjoy the culinary delights at Gill's Lanai Minnie's, Pomaikai Courtyard Cafe , the Kings View Cafe', L&L Diner and Chaba's Joy Cafe (Thai) .
Fresh off the Grid is a nice treat near Pololu valley for local fruit smoothies, lunch and ice cream. They also sell local fruit and vegetable -open Friday -Monday. There is much more, you will just have to go out and explore.......enjoy!
